Provide support for porches and decks on 10 townhouses constructed on the waterfront in Cold Spring. A subsurface investigation was completed and found that the upper 10′ of strata consisted of coarse sand and gravel underlain by a 60′ silty clay layer. It was concluded that the upper 10′ of soil would support the light loads of the decks and porches. The job was completed using a Gehl Skid Steer and a Toro Dingo for confined areas. Each pile was encased with 12″ sonotube, backfilled to finished grade and filled with concrete.
